The Singaporean Parent (for the children only)
What do Singaporean Parents think like?
1) They believe deep down that their kid can be the best.
2) They get angry if their kid is not the best.
3) If they know of a good tuition/ enrichment class, they will send all their children to it.
4) If they know of a good tuition/ enrichment class, they may not tell all their friends about it.
5) If their children are not doing well, they believe that they can pay their way to get their children up to mark.
6) They like subjects that appear to be directly relevant to a profession, such as Maths and Physics.
7) They prefer subjects that are easier to score high marks in.
8) They find it easier to sleep at night and turn up at family gatherings if their children are admitted to well-regarded schools.
9) To achieve worry-free sleep and the confidence to turn up at family gatherings, they are prepared to relocate to secure a place in a desired primary school.
10) They believe everything they are doing is for the good of the children though sometimes it is just a coincidence that they are pointing to a direction they never took themselves.
I think it is as Parents that the worse and the best of the Singaporean nature shows up. Oops! what a slip! Did I only mention the former?
